• Description: 2-Methyl-3-nitroaniline is a nitro compound that is used in the synthesis of diazonium salts. It is a white solid with an unpleasant odor. 2-Methyl-3-nitroaniline can be obtained by reacting picric acid with hydroxide solution and nitrous acid, or by the reaction of ammonia with amines. This compound has been shown to possess magnetic resonance spectroscopy properties and has been used for the detection of cellulose content in wheat samples.
