Description :
Methyl 4-bromocrotonate is a conjugate of methyl 4-bromocrotonate and diethyl succinate that has been synthesized in the laboratory. This compound can be used for the treatment of cancer. Methyl 4-bromocrotonate reacts with hydroxyl groups, such as those on DNA, to form covalent bonds. The reaction yield is high and there are no byproducts. Methyl 4-bromocrotonate has a low toxicity and can be used in combination with other anticancer drugs like piperazine, which inhibits cancer cell growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. The synthesis of benzofuran derivatives requires the use of sodium sulfide as a catalyst.
