Description :
3-(Methylthio)hexanol is a synthetic chemical that has been used as an extractant for various compounds. It has been used to study the stereoisomers of hexanal, which is a product of lipid peroxidation and can be found in cooked meat. 3-(Methylthio)hexanol has also been used as a relaxant in cavitation experiments. The mass spectrometric detection of this compound was optimized using different mass spectrometry methods to analyze its properties. This analytical method was calibrated with the use of hexanal as the analyte.
