Description :
3-Methylcyclohexane-1,2-dione is an organic compound that is used as a polymerization initiator. This compound has two tautomeric forms: the keto form and the enol form. The keto form of 3-methylcyclohexane-1,2-dione interacts with copper chloride to produce a new compound called 3-methylcyclohexane-1,2-dione hydrochloride. This reaction can be used to synthesize polymers efficiently in an efficient method by using a model system. The functional groups on 3 methylcyclohexane 1,2 dione are hydroxyl group and fatty acid chains.
