Description

1-Methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid is a bioactive molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit tumor necrosis factor (TNF) production in response to mitogen and TNF receptor activation. 1-Methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid also inhibits the activity of two proteins that are involved in inflammation, namely, protein kinase C (PKC) and nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB). The compound is an inhibitor of PKC and NFκB activation, which may be due to its ability to bind with these enzymes. 1-Methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid can also be produced by industrial methods on a large scale.
