2-(N-Morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid monohydrate is a buffering agent that belongs to the group of acidic compounds. It is used as an analytical reagent in microbiology and biochemistry. 2-(N-Morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid monohydrate can be used to measure the toll-like receptor (TLR) response of cells, which has been shown to be involved in cancer cell viability, infectious diseases, and plant metabolism. This compound also has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to the bacterial ribosome. 2-(N-Morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid monohydrate binds with malonic acid for fluorescence probe analysis and can be used as a model system for plant metabolism and redox potential.
