3'-Methoxybiphenyl-3-carboxylic acid is a fatty acid that is found in the human body. It is used as an antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial agent. 3'-Methoxybiphenyl-3-carboxylic acid can be used to treat HIV and AIDS by inhibiting the enzyme reverse transcriptase in the virus. This drug also has been shown to increase energy efficiency by reducing the need for fatty acids during metabolism.
