• Description: N-Methyl-L-isoleucine hydrochloride is a molecule that has been found to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Molt-4 and MCF-7 cells, both of which are human tumor cell lines. The molecular structure of N-Methyl-L-isoleucine hydrochloride is similar to that of L-isoleucine, but with an additional methyl group. Analysis by gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy revealed no other significant peaks in the nmr spectra. This compound may be a promising lead for developing new drugs for the treatment of cancer.
