Description :
6-Methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole is a stereoselective inhibitor of subtilisin. It has significant inhibitory activity against cholinesterase and s. aureus and also inhibits the growth of gram negative bacteria. 6-Methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of butyrylcholinesterase and is used in the treatment of hemiplegia. This compound is structurally related to aluminium and has been shown to bind to chloride ions in a stereoselective manner.
