• Description: DL-2-Methylglutamic acid hemihydrate is a biologically active compound that is used in the synthesis of L-glutamate. It has been found to be an efficient catalyst for the asymmetric synthesis of carboxylates. DL-2-Methylglutamic acid hemihydrate has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of glutamate dehydrogenase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of glutamate, which may have implications for the treatment of neurological disorders and epilepsy.
