Description :
5-(4-Methylphenyl)isoxazole-3-carboxaldehyde is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent with activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and yeast. It has been shown to have a broad spectrum of activity against Candida albicans and other pathogenic fungi. 5-(4-Methylphenyl)isoxazole-3-carboxaldehyde has also been shown to be active against many clinically significant bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter cloacae, Citrobacter freundii. This compound is also active against many of the most common human pathogens including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
