Description

1-Methyl-5-bromoindazole is a flavonoid that has been isolated from various plants. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties, as well as the ability to scavenge free radicals. The compound has also been shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation and reduce the production of reactive oxygen species in certain cell lines. 1-Methyl-5-bromoindazole is found in tea leaves and grapefruit peels, among other plant sources. The compound can be extracted using solid phase microextraction techniques and analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (LC). The GC analysis showed that it is composed of three major peaks with a retention time of 5.0 minutes, 8.3 minutes, and 12 minutes.
