4-Methylpiperidin-4-ol is a chemical compound that is found in the brain and has been shown to be involved in neurotransmission. It belongs to the group of adenosine receptor antagonists and can be used for the treatment of muscle spasms, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, schizophrenia, depression and other disorders. 4-Methylpiperidin-4-ol is also known as an inhibitor of ethanol consumption and cocaine addiction. It has been shown to have an antagonistic effect on the cannabinoid CB1 receptor.
