Description

3-Mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane is a molecule made up of three parts: a trimethoxysilane group, a trimethylsilyl group, and a mercapto group. The trimethoxysilane group is hydrophilic in nature and has an electron withdrawing effect on the molecule. The trimethylsilyl group is hydrophobic in nature and has an electron donating effect on the molecule.
