5-Methyl-1H-indazole-3-carboxylic acid is an indazole derivative which has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. The compound binds to a specific site on the ATP binding cassette subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1) protein and thereby blocks the efflux of anticancer drugs from the cells, leading to their accumulation. This results in increased cytotoxicity and inhibits tumor growth.
