Description :
5-Methoxy-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2-carboxylic acid is a selective δ receptor agonist and κ opioid receptor antagonist. It has been shown to be a potent analgesic with a long duration of action. 5-Methoxy-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2-carboxylic acid does not bind to the μ, δ, or κ opioid receptors. This compound is being developed as an alternative to morphine for the treatment of moderate to severe pain.
