Description

5-Methyl-2-thiopheneboronic acid is a cross-coupling reagent that can be used in the formation of bonds between electron-deficient alkyl compounds and electron rich aromatic rings. It is a photochromic compound that exhibits fluorescence when irradiated with UV light. This product has been shown to be an effective additive for electronic devices, such as transistors, as it reduces viscosity and prevents oxidation. 5-Methyl-2-thiopheneboronic acid also reacts with electrophiles to form bonds and can be used as a ligand in coordination chemistry.
