• Description: 2-Methoxyphenyl)acetone is a synthetic compound that has been used in the synthesis of β-unsaturated aldehydes. It can be synthesized by acylation reaction of methoxyphenamine with 1,2-dibromoethane. 2-Methoxyphenyl)acetone has been used as an imaging agent for positron emission tomography (PET). This compound is taken up by the brain and has high affinity for β-amino acid receptors. The chemical structure of 2-methoxyphenyl)acetone consists of two functional groups, a phenol and an acetone group.
