Description

Methyl 2-toluate is a chemical compound that contains a disulfide bond. It is used as a catalyst in the preparation of various organic compounds, such as pharmaceuticals, herbicides, and liquid fuels. Methyl 2-toluate has been shown to be useful for the production of benzoate from cyclohexane and benzoyl chloride. This reaction requires constant pressure at an elevated temperature.
