Description :
3-Methyl-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-indole is an indole that is used in the synthesis of melatonin. It has a radical functional group and can react with other molecules to form new chemical compounds. 3-Methyl-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-indole can be used as a medicine and is efficient at trifluoromethylation reactions. It reacts with indoles to produce new compounds with yields greater than 80%. 3-Methyl-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-indole is an analogue of tryptophan, which is also known as vitamin B3.
