Description

(+/-)-alpha-Methoxy-alpha-Trifluoromethylphenylacetic Acid is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been found to possess analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and mitochondrial functions. It is an acetate extract of the leaves and stems of Cannabis sativa. (+/-)-alpha-Methoxy-alpha-Trifluoromethylphenylacetic Acid is metabolized in rat liver microsomes through a synchronous, asymmetric synthesis with n-dimethyl formamide as the solvent. The metabolite is then oxidized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to produce the active form, which binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain and other tissues.
