• Description: Z-NHNH2·HCl is an amide containing a tetrapeptide. It has been used as a diagnostic agent for the detection of caerulein, a peptide that is produced by the pancreas in response to the presence of cholecystokinin (CCK). The monomers were prepared by reacting azide with benzyl chloroacetanilides and then cyclizing the product with triethylene glycol. The soybean extract was hydrolyzed with HCl to produce Z-NHNH2·HCl.
