Description :
4-Nitro-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxamide is an inhibitor of the phosphodiesterase enzyme. It inhibits the enzyme by binding to the active site and blocking the hydrolysis of cGMP. This results in increased levels of cGMP, which causes relaxation of smooth muscle, leading to lower blood pressure. 4-Nitro-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxamide also inhibits other enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of nitric oxide and prostaglandins, which may account for its antiplatelet activity.
