• Description: 3-[(E)-2-Nitrovinyl]pyridine is a chiral, stereoselective, enamine derived from 2-nitrovinylpyridine that has been shown to catalyze 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions. This reaction has been shown to be useful for the synthesis of chiral α-amino nitriles and it has been found to be effective in the reduction of trichomonas vaginalis. 3-[(E)-2-Nitrovinyl]pyridine is also a worthwhile catalyst for the synthesis of various aldehydes.
