Description :
2-Nitro-9H-fluoren-9-one is a synthetic molecule that reversibly changes its oxidation state between +2 and +1. It is used in analytical chemistry as an electron acceptor for reduction of nitro compounds to their corresponding amines. The redox potentials of 2-Nitro-9H-fluoren-9-one can be determined by measuring the difference in the mass spectrometric peak intensities at different pH values.
