- 2-Nitrobenzaldehyde Semicarbazone
2-Nitrobenzaldehyde semicarbazone is an activated form of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde, which is synthesized by reacting with sodium hydroxide. This compound has been used to analyze the antigenicity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) samples in a monoclonal antibody immunoassay, where the detection limit was found to be 10 ng/mL. The analytical method for 2-nitrobenzaldehyde semicarbazone involves liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). A peroxide reaction monitoring method was also developed using this substance. The monoclonal antibody used in this study was raised against 2-nitrobenzaldehyde and reacted with the semicarbazone derivative, which was then analysed by LC-MS/MS.
