N-Nitroso-3-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane is a nitrosating agent that can be used for the determination of gliclazide in pharmaceuticals and other applications. It is synthesized by reacting 3-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane with sodium nitrite in an alkaline environment, followed by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid.
