2-Nicotinamide-2,3,5-tri-O-acetyl-β-D-riboside bromide is a novel antiviral agent that is structurally related to adenosine monophosphate. It has been shown to be active against Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1) and HSV2 in vitro. Its antiviral activity may be due to the inhibition of viral DNA synthesis and RNA transcription.
