Description

4-N-Boc-aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid is a small molecule that is used in biochemical assays. It can be reversibly transported across the cell membrane and it does not interact with biomolecules. This compound has been shown to inhibit viral replication by interfering with the assembly of viral particles, as well as solute transport through the cell membrane. 4-N-Boc-aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid also inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, which is an enzyme involved in HIV replication. The diameter of this compound is optimized for use in mesoporous materials, bilayers, and membranes. 4-N-Boc-aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid has been used to study the active site of enzymes and its evaporation properties have been studied using microscopy techniques.
