Nonafluorobutanesulfonyl chloride is a reagent that can be used for the synthesis of glucuronide conjugates. It is synthesized by reacting an alkynyl compound with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a base. Nonafluorobutanesulfonyl chloride is a colorless liquid that has polymorphic properties and reacts with water to give hydrogen fluoride and hydrochloric acid. It can be used as a solvent for organic solvents, such as nitrobenzene or perfluorinated compounds. Nonafluorobutanesulfonyl chloride has been shown to have anti-HIV activity in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit reverse transcriptase activity.
