Description :P-Nitrobenzoic acid is a nitro compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals. P-Nitrobenzoic acid can be synthesized by reacting sodium nitrite with p-hydroxybenzoic acid. This compound reacts with aziridine in an exothermic reaction mechanism to form an unstable five membered ring. This reaction proceeds through a series of steps and eventually forms p-nitrobenzoic acid.
