4-Nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenol is a chemical that is used in the preparation of other chemicals. It binds to the hydroxyl group on the liver cells and up-regulates genes related to locomotor activity, energy metabolism, and glucuronide conjugate. 4-Nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenol has been shown to have toxic effects on animals, including acute toxicity and analytical method for measuring its concentrations in animal tissues. A LC/MS/MS method with metal hydroxides was used to analyze the concentrations of 4-nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenol in mouse livers.
