Informations sur le produit
Nom:6-Nitropiperonyl alcohol
Synonymes :
- 3,4-Methylenedioxy-6-nitrobenzyl alcohol
Marque:Biosynth
Description :6-Nitropiperonyl alcohol is a polymerase inhibitor that prevents the production of DNA, RNA, and proteins. It binds to the active site of polymerases by competitive inhibition and inhibits the incorporation of triphosphates into the growing nucleic acid chain. 6-Nitropiperonyl alcohol has been shown to inhibit the activity of all three types of polymerases: DNA-, RNA-, and protein-dependent polymerases. This drug can be used for the treatment of cancers associated with the overproduction of these proteins. The photochemical properties of 6-nitropiperonyl alcohol have also been studied. When exposed to UV light, 6-nitropiperonyl alcohol undergoes photochemical reactions in which it forms nitrobenzaldehyde, which then reacts with urea to produce anions (e.g., nitrite). These anions can be used as markers for polymers during patterning processes such as lithography and microfabrication.
