(aR)-a-[[[2-(4-Nitrophenyl)ethyl]amino]methyl]benzenemethanol is a chiral, carbonyl compound that has been used in the synthesis of mirabegron. It is synthesized by reacting an amide with a hydrochloric acid salt. The product yield of (aR)-a-[[[2-(4-Nitrophenyl)ethyl]amino]methyl]benzenemethanol is high and it does not react with aluminium or amide impurities. This compound can be used for the industrial synthesis of mirabegron, which is a drug for the treatment of urinary incontinence.
