Description

Nitronium hexafluoroantimonate is a functional material that can be used as a semiconductor. It is composed of carbon nanotubes, which are cylindrical-shaped molecules with diameters ranging from 1 to 100 nm and lengths up to several micrometers. These nanotubes are composed of single-walled tubes made of graphene sheets rolled into cylinders. Nitronium hexafluoroantimonate has been shown to emit light in the visible region when excited by an electric field or light. The emission wavelength changes depending on the diameter of the covalent bonds between the carbon atoms. Nitronium hexafluoroantimonate has also been shown to have a hydrophobic surface, which makes it suitable for use in organic solutions and inorganic solvents.
