Description

[(2-Oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl)oxy]acetic acid is a coumarin derivative that is used as a viscosity stabilizer in pharmaceuticals. It can be synthesized by the reaction of ethyl bromoacetate and 2,6-dimethoxyphenol. The compound has been reported to show crosslinking properties, which may be due to the presence of hydroxyl groups.
