Description :Octadecyloctadecanamide is an aliphatic amide that is a high molecular weight molecule. It has been used as a viscosity modifier, and as a component of ethylene diamine in the production of synthetic detergent compositions. Octadecyloctadecanamide has been shown to be effective in preventing metal corrosion due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with the surface of metals. Octadecyloctadecanamide also has hydroxyl groups that can react with fatty acids and fatty esters. This leads to the formation of polymer films that are stable in water and are able to act as detergents for chromatographic science applications.
