Description

2-(4-((2-Oxocyclopentyl)methyl)phenyl)propanoic acid (CPCPPA) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of arthritis and bowel disease. CPCPPA acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, which is the enzyme responsible for the production of prostaglandins. It also inhibits tumor growth in mice with experimental tumors. CPCPPA is not toxic to epidermal cells or atherosclerotic lesions.
