Octyl dodecyl dimethylammoniumchloride is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that has been inactivated to prevent it from being infectious. It is used as a syncytial agent, which means that it can prevent the spread of viral infections. Octyl dodecyl dimethylammoniumchloride is used to treat influenza virus infections and also as a preventative measure against the flu. This drug is non-irritating and does not cause any adverse reactions when administered. It can be applied topically or taken orally for prevention of influenza. Octyl dodecyl dimethylammoniumchloride has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can help with symptoms of hepatitis, such as jaundice, nausea, vomiting, headache, fever and pain in the joints.
