13-Oxo-10-deacetyl Baccatin III is a diterpene that is found in the leaves of Taxus cuspidata. It has significant activity against taxanes, which are drugs used to treat cancer. This drug inhibits the growth of human colon adenocarcinoma cells, and medulloblastoma cells by affecting microtubules. 13-Oxo-10-deacetyl Baccatin III also has anti-inflammatory properties, and has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in human liver cells.
