Description :
Octacosanol is a natural compound found in the body and shown to have hypoglycemic effects. It has been shown to bind to DNA, which may account for its hypoglycemic effect. Octacosanol also has an effect on 2-adrenergic receptors, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties. Octacosanol can also be used as a natural food additive or dietary supplement. The octacosanol nanoparticulate compositions can be prepared by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) using preparative hplc, with sodium citrate as the mobile phase additive. The octacosanol nanoparticles are then analyzed by analytical methods such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
