Description :
2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-Octaethyl-21H,23H-porphine palladium(II) is a metallorganic compound that acts as a light-emitting material. It has an emission spectrum with peaks at 425 nm and 530 nm. 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-Octaethyl-21H,23H-porphine palladium(II) emits light in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum when it is activated by heat or by chemical reactions. The activation energy for the emission of light from 2EOPP is 4.0 eV. The peak wavelength can be shifted to shorter wavelengths by lowering the temperature or by adding a polymer matrix to the sample. This material can be used as an optical sensor for low oxygen concentrations.
