Description

Oxibendazole is an anthelmintic drug that inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol by inhibiting a pro-apoptotic protein in the mitochondria. It has been shown to have inhibitory properties against various tumor cell lines, including carcinoma cell lines, and to be effective against infectious diseases. Oxibendazole has also been shown to be toxic to fish and aquatic organisms at high concentrations. Oxibendazole is a natural compound that can be found in plants such as dandelion and wild carrot. The compound has been isolated from wastewater effluent as well as from colloidal gold.
