Description

2-(3-Hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-4-tert-butylbenzyl)-2-imidazoline hydrochloride is an antihistamine that is used to treat eye disorders. 2-(3-Hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-4-tert-butylbenzyl)-2-imidazoline hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of the histamine H1 receptor. It binds to the H1 receptor and inhibits its activity by preventing the binding of histamine or other endogenous agonists. This drug also has a role in nasal decongestion because it releases vasoconstrictor substances that shrink blood vessels in nasal passages, making breathing easier. 2-(3-Hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-4 -tert -butylbenzyl)-2 -imidazoline hydrochloride does not affect the function of other histamine receptors (H2 and H3
