H-Phe-Gly-Phe-Gly-OH has been shown to inhibit fatty acid synthesis, which may be due to its inhibition of the enzyme acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC). This molecule has also been shown to inhibit tripeptide synthesis, which may be due to its inhibition of the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPIV).
