• Description: Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) is a peptide hormone produced by the parathyroid gland that functions as a phosphatase, inhibiting alkaline phosphatase. It also has an inhibitory effect on osteoclastic bone resorption and stimulates osteoblastic bone formation. PTHrP has been shown to be useful in treating osteoporosis and Paget's disease.
