D-Phe-Pro-OH is a tripeptide that is reversibly inactivated by methanol, chloromethyl ketone, and boronate esters. It can be used as an affinity label for the detection of aldehydes. This compound has been shown to be an inhibitor of protein synthesis and cell growth. It has also been used to synthesize analogs with similar properties, such as Z-D-Phe-Pro-OH.
