• Description: 1-Phenyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is a heterocyclic compound with a carbonyl group. It is the simplest furan derivative. 1PPC has been shown to react with phosphite and trimethyl phosphite to form an intramolecular cycloaddition product, which is a biomolecular reaction. 1PPC competes with furan for the formation of pyrroles. This study also showed that pyrrole rings can be opened by 1PPC and other carbonyl groups in the presence of base, forming new compounds.
