Informations sur le produit
2H-Pyran-3(6H)-one is an organic compound that has been shown to be a potent antibacterial agent, inhibiting bacterial growth by acting as a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme pyrylium hydroxylase. It is also used as a catalyst for organic reactions and has been shown to catalyze the reaction between cyclohexane and phenol. 2H-Pyran-3(6H)-one was originally isolated from Streptococcus bacteria but can also be found in nature in plants such as pyracantha. The molecule has a cyclohexane ring with an attached hydroxyl group, which is responsible for its antibacterial activity.
