Description :
4-Phenylpyridin-2-ol is a neuroactive drug that has been shown to be an analgesic and antipyretic. It is also an allosteric modulator of the metabotropic glutamate receptor, which is a subtype of glutamate receptors. 4-Phenylpyridin-2-ol has been shown to have anti-depressant effects in animal models and may be useful for the treatment of psychiatric disorders such as depression or anxiety. 4-Phenylpyridin-2-ol has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandins, which are inflammatory substances that may play a role in the development of pain and fever. The ability of this drug to act as both an analgesic and antipyretic may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
